Brace Place Doctors are named Top Dentists!
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Brad Elkin, Dr. Josh Epstein, and Dr. George Sargiss. Each has been named a “Top Dentist” in New Jersey Monthly magazine's survey of New Jersey dentists.
Ballots were sent to the state's practicing dentists by the Polling Institute at Monmouth University asking them to whom they would send a loved one. The results were reviewed, tabulated, and sent to New Jersey Monthly and appeared in the July 2009 issue.
Brace Place Celebrates its 30th Anniversary
A great smile is not the only thing you'll walk away with if you choose Brace Place for orthodontics.
This practice goes way above and beyond the norm. The reason? To help children and adults to feel at ease, comfortable and, yes, even happy, while they are under orthodontic care.
Often, children and even adults are nervous when they first come into the office, according to Dr. Joshua Epstein.
In an interview with the orthodontist, he explained that the staff at Brace Place understands this fact and works together to provide a safe, comfortable and fun atmosphere for children to settle into before their teeth ever see any braces.
The feeling of comfort starts as soon as you enter the office, where cookies and gourmet coffee await you, along with the compassionate and knowledgeable staff. Patients then meet with the new patient coordinator, who explains everything they need to know about procedures and the staff. Children receive some treats and a Brace Place T-shirt right off the bat.
Aside from the fact that the five orthodontists are all top-notch, and that only state-of-the art equipment is used, there are tons of extras that are sure to make the visit to the orthodontist a pleasant experience.
“It isn't just about getting straight teeth,” Epstein said. This is the whole Brace Place team's belief.
And it isn't just about the braces, as anyone who visits this office will clearly see. It's about caring for the patients and their families.
From the street sign that signals you've arrived at Brace Place, to the stoplight inside the office, to the cool reward program this practice offers children and adults, Brace Place has an edge that other offices would have a hard time matching.
The reward program, for instance, is an ideal way to bring patients into the practice with less apprehension. The foundation of this reward program is the collection of wooden nickels. Patients get to collect the treasured coins and receive really neat prizes such as movie passes, gift certificates for sports and video businesses and toy stores. There are even larger prizes such as a boombox, personal Discman or MP3 player. A Sonic toothbrush is also on the list.
But every game or sporting event has rules, according to Dr. George Sargiss. If patients arrive on time for their appointment, they get a coin. If their tooth brushing has been graded good or better, they can claim some more coins. If they have managed not to lose or break any of the braces, wires or appliances, they can chalk up a few more. Wearing their removable appliances for the correct amount of hours sends more coins their way. Even wearing their Brace Place T-shirt to their appointment gets them a coin. The coins can be spent right away or accumulated for larger prizes later on, according to Sargiss.
Brace Place has offices in Freehold, Manalapan and Hightstown, where the Brace Place Orthodontics doctors are experienced orthodontists in the placement of orthodontic braces, including adult braces and kids' braces and Invisalign® invisible braces.
Choosing Brace Place is easy if you check out the impressive credentials of the orthodontists. All of the doctors at Brace Place were recently named to the Top 100 Invisalign Orthodontists in the country. In addition, several of the doctors have gone through a rigorous examination to become Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Epstein said that the doctors continue to train and study in their field to keep updated in the latest developments in orthodontics. They are active members of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Board of Orthodontics. Some of the doctors are Fellows of the American College of Dentists and Fellows of the Federation Dental International.
Dr. Brad Elkin currently serves as the treasurer of the Mercer County Dental Association. Dr. Joshua Epstein and Dr. George Sargiss are on staff at CentraState Medical Center.
Dr. Martin B. Epstein joined Brace Place to offer his vast experience and knowledge. He has lectured throughout the world on his orthodontic technique. He joins his son and longtime friends to continue the excellent reputation that Brace Place has maintained for the past 30 years.
Also on staff at Brace Place is Dr. Sonalee Kapoor, whose fine credentials add to the expertise in orthodontics that the Brace Place is able to offer to all of its adult and child patients.
The practice of orthodontics is a very specialized area of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, interception and treatment of dental and facial irregularities that are caused by crowded, crooked or protruding teeth or by poorly aligned jaws, according to Dr. Brad Elkin. These problems are corrected with traditional braces or Invisalign.
“Crooked teeth are very difficult to keep clean and healthy,” Elkin said. “Teeth that fit poorly together make it hard to chew food properly and can cause improper wear of the teeth, and poorly positioned teeth can lead to gum disease and ultimate loss of teeth.”
The services available at Brace Place include conventional orthodontic treatment, such as comprehensive fixed brace treatment; adult orthodontics, which includes clear, ceramic brackets,“invisible” braces behind teeth and the Invisalign system; child interceptive treatment, which includes growth supervision, space maintainers and early crossbite correction; functional jaw orthopedics, which includes upper jaw widening, fixed and removable functional appliances for lower and/or upper jaw advancement; surgical orthodontics, where the orthodontist and an oral surgeon work together to correct major facial and skeletal disharmonies; and cosmetic orthodontics, which includes space closure and minor tooth removal.
The staff at Brace Place is one of the main reasons the office runs so smoothly. The average Brace Place employee has been at the practice for 15 years. Many of the employees have been there since the inception of the practice. This has created a family atmosphere. Many of the parents were patients when they were younger. Parents frequently get excited to see the same friendly faces they saw as kids.

The Brace Place Keeps Patients Smiling by Adopting Faster, More Comfortable Braces
In-Ovation®R Braces Reduce Treatment Time in Many Patients
The Brace Place has announced that it has updated its orthodontic practice with the revolutionary In-Ovation R braces, thereby increasing patient comfort and reducing the time patients spend receiving treatment and wearing braces as a whole. In-Ovation R is a revolutionary new system of braces that is not only faster for your orthodontist to use, it also can significantly shorten treatment time. It's great looking and smaller for greater comfort, plus it offers better hygiene than conventional braces.
People want better smiles, "but they don't want to wait forever to get them, or endure the pain. With In-Ovation R braces, patients get quicker, more comfortable treatment with fewer visits and less time spent in the chair." says Dr. Josh Epstein.
In-Ovation R allows the Brace Place orthodontists to use lighter wires to connect the braces, resulting in less pressure on the patient's teeth during treatment than with other braces.
In today's healthcare environment, consumers are beginning to educate themselves on their medical choices and doctors are aware of the need to keep apprised of progress. By staying at the forefront of product advances, the Brace Place can provide its patients with what they ask for.
All patients who are being evaluated for orthodontic treatment can use In-Ovation R, which is why the Brace Place has adopted it. Says Dr. Epstein, "What we do helps boost people's self-esteem by improving their teeth, but no matter what their age, the sooner they're out of the braces, the happier they'll be -- and that satisfaction is our ultimate goal."
